Eric Burch

Missouri

“Writing became the way I unpacked the weight I had carried behind those doors.”

For almost three decades, Eric Burch walked the halls of three state prisons and a county jail, learning firsthand how the job changes you in ways that follow you home. The Weight of the Keys is a raw, unfiltered memoir about the realities of corrections, the moments that stay with you, and the humor that keeps people going when the job gets heavy. Eric lives in Missouri and continues to work in the corrections field.
